TronixPro X8 ProbraidCarp Lines

Leighton Bennett — Wed, 22 Apr 2026 16:33:07 +0000

Description

Developed for shore and boat anglers, X8 Pro Braid is a super-thin, durable braid woven from eight strands of 100% PE material. X8 Pro Braid has a unique and specially developed super smooth coating to ensure it flies through the rod rings when casting. A low-diameter braid with a high breaking strain to diameter. This lower diameter increases casting efficiency to reach further distances from the shore. When boat fishing, the lower diameter helps to cut through water better, so you can fish with lighter leads in quicker tides. The round profile and extra slick coating help the braid load onto the reel spool correctly and won’t dig into itself, helping to reduce tangles and friction. Finally, added UV protection helps reduce the sun’s degrading effect on braided lines, ensuring it will last longer than some other braids on the market.

– Tightly woven from eight strands of 100% PE, producing a low diameter, high breaking strain braid.
– Super smooth coating for slick performance and enhanced casting distances.
– Round profile so the braid does not dig into itself when packed onto a spool.
– Thin diameter makes it the ideal casting line and a good line for cutting through the tide from a boat.
– Added UV protection ensuring the line lasts longer than other braids on the market.

Grando Bombarda Anti-Tangle FloatFloats

Leighton Bennett — Wed, 18 Mar 2026 16:40:12 +0000

Description

Bombarda float fishing is an old Scandinavian method that they have been using successfully over the years for trout that now allows the bass angler to cast lightweight lures or flies out at a distance.

For bombarda float fishing, a hook length of 8ft is recommended to keep the hook bait far from the float. This long hook length also allows for proper turnover of the bait or lure and reduces tangles, especially when stopping the line before the float hits the water.

Elaboration:

Distance:

The primary reason for using a longer hook length is to create distance between the float and the hook bait. This helps prevent the float from spooking fish that might be near the bait.
Turnover:

When casting, stopping the line just before the float lands allows the hook bait or lure to flip over and position itself correctly behind the float, minimising tangles.
Adaptation:

While 7-9 feet is a good starting point, you can adjust the length depending on your fishing style and the specific conditions. If you’re casting very long distances, you might need a slightly longer hook length, while in shallower water, a shorter one might suffice.
Tangle Prevention:

Using a longer hook length in conjunction with stopping the line before the float hits the water significantly reduces the chances of tangles, especially when fishing with heavier baits or lures.

Sometimes bass are transfixed on feeding on tiny baitfish, and they will just not take your standard-size lures. When this scenario is in front of you, you simply connect a Bombarda and a small lure or fly, this method will allow you to cast tiny lures at great distances. Ideally, have a bead on either side of the float and then onto a good 3-5 ft of fluorocarbon before you clip on the small lure of fly.
