U16

Following a competitive qualifying session on Borth beach, the U16 Wales Shore Team welcomes two new members to the squad ahead of next year’s Home Internationals in Kent, England.

They will be joining established team members Jamie Thomas and Jasper Lewis (2nd cap) Max Worsey and Harri Williams (3rd cap) all keen to bring a medal back to Wales.

First is Harvey Ogston-Price, who enjoys the strong fight when targeting conger, his favourite species to catch. One of his most memorable achievements is landing an impressive 39lb tope, caught while boat fishing off Ilfracombe.

When Harvey first heard he had been selected, he assumed his parents were joking. Once the news sunk in, he felt honoured and privileged to be given the opportunity to fish for his country.

Next up is Harri Rice, who is thrilled to earn his first cap representing Wales. A junior member of the Carmarthen Sea Angling Club, Harri regularly takes part in club matches across West Wales.

He especially enjoys targeting bass and flatfish using light tactics, and names Chesil Beach as his favourite fishing venue. He is eager to learn from his teammates, and contribute to the team’s success.

A Thank You to our Supporters

A huge thank you goes to everyone who continues to support the squad, including Bennett’s Tackle for their ongoing encouragement and contributions. We plan to have a collection box at the Bennett’s shop for people wanting to donate towards funding the team.

If you would like to help by donating to the team in any way (prizes or cash!) please contact the Team Manager Benny Worsey on Facebook or email b.t.worsey@icloud.com.

Here’s hoping they bring a medal back home to Wales!
